The institute examines geopolitical and geostrategic developments in areas important to national security and interests of Pakistan with the view to elicit implications for the country's maritime security landscape and provide policy input to relevant quarters. In order to focus research, the institute has following clusters:


India and South Asia Studies Centre


The centre continually examines Indian Elements of National Power (EoNP), foreign policy, national security, defence and maritime policy constituents of India, island nations in IOR and countries in South Asia with focus on maritime domain to draw pertinent implications for Pakistan and Pakistan Navy


Middle East and Regional Studies Centre


The centre studies geopolitical and geostrategic developments in Middle East and Africa in order to draw implications on maritime security of Pakistan


Global Studies Centre


This centre examines evolving global geopolitical and geostrategic trends with particular focus on Indian Ocean and Western Pacific Region to draw relevant implications and (or) policy options for Pakistan
