The institute studies and forecasts mid and long term maritime strategic trends in terms of geopolitics, security and technological developments focusing on emerging warfare concepts and capabilities. It then recommends viable strategy towards joint warfare and for Pakistan Navy


It comprises of maritime policy and strategy, global emerging military and naval trends and technologies, blue economy, nuclear studies, leadership and defence management and international law
The institute is to regularly publish articles in leading research journals and newspapers to contribute towards Maritime awareness.
