Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCE) is conceived to be hub of Maritime research in Pakistan. The first of its kind Think-Tank, MCE is purported to expand national understanding on matters related to oceans and allied subjects. Despite being in its infancy, MCE has taken considerable strides to advance the cause of maritime outreach in Pakistan. With two distinctly separate but conjoined strands of Maritime Security and Blue economy, the think-tank has already established profound links with academia and is in process of formalizing linkages with premier think tanks in Pakistan. The Centre has a diverse faculty of seasoned experts and civilian researchers clubbed together with practitioners who produce and publish quality research work in assigned disciplines, the integration of MCE with local top ranking universities is concurrently expanding Maritime and Naval understanding as well as its importance for Pakistan. I hope in times to come, MCE will develop as a vibrant enterprise in Pakistan and advance the noble cause of expanding maritime outreach for larger good of posterity.
