Strategic Suicide: India, Pakistan and the Coming Naval War
Post–May 2025, India’s emerging “Navy-First” rhetoric reflects political bravado rather than strategic realism. Drawing lessons from recent crises, it can be argued that shifting escalation to the maritime domain does not offer greater control but instead heightens security risks and loss of escalation dominance in a nuclearized South Asian environment. Therefore, for India, a Navy-First opening would signal not strength, but strategic recklessness with potentially catastrophic regional and global consequences.
