The Beacon is an annual publication of Pakistan Navy War College, which a premier institute and the highest seat of learning in Pakistan Navy. The scope of the journal includes key traditional as well as non-traditional security issues confronting regional and global environment. It primarily focuses on maritime security, blue economy, international security, peace and conflict studies, and other contemporary geo-political and strategic issues. The main objective of The Beacon Journal is to promote high-standard scholarly and policy-oriented research in the aforementioned areas of study. Hence, under the guidance of an expert Advisory Board, the Beacon Journal serves as a trendsetter in academic world to advance maritime and strategic thinking in Pakistan.
The Beacon Journal’s research comprises a range of cross-cutting issues, including geopolitics, national security, military and maritime strategy, warfare, maritime security, military and emerging technologies, Blue Economy and climate change. It also investigates the policies and measures of international organizations and security alliances like UN, European Union, ASEAN, SAARC, NATO, Quad and AUKUS. The journal is unbound to any particular epistemological stance, methodological framework and theoretical paradigm. The Beacon Journal welcomes research work from academicians, policy-makers and scholars from all disciplines.
The Beacon Journal is a scholarly publication that aims to promote policy relevant research on key issues related to international security, maritime security, regional peace and stability and conflict resolution. To ensure impartiality, the journal maintains a rigorous peer-review process, which includes initial editor screening and anonymous or blind review by external specialists in the subject area, to ensure the quality and relevance of articles published.
Publication Fee/ Charges: There are no review or publication charges in The Beacon Journal. The Beacon Journal is completely free for authors and readers to promote the knowledge sharing community.
